The J Crew Molten Metallic Perfect Shirt

It was Girls' Night last night so I thought that was the *perfect* opportunity to pull out the J Crew Molten Metallic Perfect Shirt (#11623, orig $78, today on FS $49.99 in the metallic khaki). Ok, I paid $52 for it, so that's not far off, but I'm still ticked. And I was in a good mood until I pulled up the web pic. Planning to see about a price adjustment when I go to do returns/exchanges on Saturday morning. (Yep, never made it to JC today, had to go to the office, and office + lunch + commute time = not too long for puppy in crate.)

This was one of my purchases from Sunday's DC JCA private shopping event. And I'll be honest, I don't usually go this shiny. Of course, you've probably figured that out by now if you've been reading my blog. But I loved the metallic khaki because it wasn't quite silver and wasn't quite gold - and molten, oh yes, it's liquid. My adorable SA on Sunday, Joanne was wearing it, and of course it was so fab on her size 0 figure. I decided, eh, why not?! And loved it when I tried it on - the fit was fantastic. The sleeves and overall shirt tail were all long enough. I had enough room in the shoulders but it was still fitted on me. So, I did it. I would like to roll the sleeves next time, but seriously, it was cold last night.

I even checked with hubby last night before I went out & before I cut the tags (was worried he would think it was too much), but he liked it, in "that" way, whatever that means. Hey, I'll take it - he didn't hate it, so that was good!! This shirt also comes in petite and tall, so there's plenty of size variation to fit you.

Honestly, I was planning to wear this with the slate cocktail capris that I got Sunday as well. But when I did pics on Tuesday, I got the "ice cream cone" effect, for you What Not To Wear fans. So I'm going to have to work with the capris to see if they are worth keeping. Plus it was chilly, so I went with dark jeans and my Target gold-ish flats. But I kept the jewelry simple since there was a lot going on with the shirt, shoes, and bag. And the IRL pic is my re-creation this morning because there was no time to take a pic last night (hair was in ponytail last night). Definitely want to try this out with some other pants, too.

It was a fun shirt, and a fun evening. We went to a Peruvian restaurant, La Canela. Very yummy food & drink. Lots of fun conversation with the girls - these are the ladies I was on our PTA Board with last year and we try to keep in touch with semi-regular social outings. Lovely evening, in spite of the weather!
