Short Sleeve Cardis This Week

Catching up... let's start with 2 outfits this week - both with short sleeve cardis. Here's today's outfit - the new linen short sleeve cardi that I got at the Tysons JCA event and my new (totally on sale) cafe capris in golden hickory. I am very glad I kept these capris, they are such a fun, offbeat color for a neutral. This cardi is going to be such a fantastic transition piece; right now it's perfect for going over all the tissue bf tees that I have...and today it was a white one. Plus the confetti necklace for more white/cream tonal...whatever. Eh, I felt like wearing it. And I have on my JC fleur de lis flip flops from 2007, I think, which happen to match the pants perfectly.

Yes, me, wearing flip flops and my feet miss being strapped in, especially when I walk Lucy. I am recovering from some major blistering on the back of my left heel that I got Tuesday and then exacerbated yesterday...so flip flops for a few days. Of course, most of my JC flip flops are a couple of years old, so not to be found in PV. No worries, I'll just have barefoot PV sets for a few days.

Polyvore for today:

Here's the other short sleeve cardigan, from Tuesday. I wore my nave blue one with a white shirt underneath. I liked how it worked. A little something different. I paired this cardi with a long sleeve white tee last spring, but hadn't done it with a shirt.
Add in simple matchstick jeans and Danielle flats, plus fireball necklace.

I *started* the day with my Clarks pink peep toes - they started the blister, which yesterday's pre-flip-flop shoes exacerbated. The things we do to ourselves, ugh. Maybe I just need to start buying expensive shoes.
New nail polish on toes - Give Me Moor. Need to post this one - fun color! perfect for fall.

Polyvore from Tuesday:

I only have 2 short sleeve cardis, so that's it for this post. And I promise to get nail color pics up soon.

I love the white long sleeve tee with the black short sleeve cardigan. I might have to try this look when it gets cooler outside.

That's funny -- not in a "haha" sort of way -- near as I can tell, expensive shoes hurt too! At least for me, I'm just more insistent to wear them if they're expensive, even if they hurt. They cost so much, I'm going to get use out of them even if it kills me! Yeah, not so funny. LOVE both outfits too btw! With this warm weather (and walking the dog) flip flops are totally appropriate! I esp. love that second outfit - the navy and white always looks so clean and polished! I may just have to borrow that idea for myself. :)

I like the white shirt with the cardigan, you always look so put together. Did you have to size up on the Matchstick jeans?

Hi, Heidi! You look so sweet in these outfit. I love the short-sleeve cardigans on you.

I hope you have been able to stop and take a breath this week...the first week of school is always insane...I am thinking of you...call if you want to chat on one of your (probably endless seeming) drives!

Both sets look great! Clarks are pretty expensive shoes, they should not give you blisters!

I love those sort of in-between, summer? fall? outfits. So cute. :)

I really love the bronzed twig capris on you. I know that's not the color, but that's what they remind me of. And I'm so glad you got the confetti necklace. It always looks so great on you.

Pamela - thank you!

Emily - thank you! (it's actually navy, one of these days I'll find a better place for pics in the house)

RatsOnParade - oh, I think it is haha funny when you are such an idiot that you wear shoes with a blister and bandaid and actually injure yourself to the point you have blood on the inside of your new shoes. Ok, maybe that's just me. :) Glad to know that it's not just my cheapie shoes, though. I do like flip flops, but just not for extended walking and Lucy needs loooooong walks.

casual-crew - thank you! Not sure how to answer on the matchstick question, or at least I don't have a direct answer. (And I have yet to find true designer jeans that I really love, so I'm not so sure about translation of the waist measurement all the time.) My matchsticks are from the outlet and I like the fit a bit better than regular retail - I don't think they gap at the waist as much. I wear an 8 in JC pants and have the outlet matchsticks in 31. But at the Tysons event, I tried a pair of retail matchsticks in a 30 and they were ok, other than the waist gapping. Does that help or did I just confuse you more? One tip I have picked up from the JCA boards is that the jeans can sometimes vary fit-wise based on the wash or color. Hope that helps a bit.

dina - thank you! I feel like I am finally caught up with the week - work deadlines - but at least I wasn't having to do it with M&E at home. chat soon!!

Kathy - thank you - and yes, I know! Clarks! Seriously??

Justine - yep, transitional dressing it is. thank you!

gigi - I agree, I think of them as bronzed twig, too. and thank you!

Kathryn - thank you! I can't complain about our weather - it's usually blazing hot when the kiddies go back to school, so I am appreciative of having a fall feel to the air here in MD.
