A Little Fun with Blogging...And Some Blogging Questions

I will be trying to do some catchup blogging this afternoon, and since I'm not planning to take my laptop when we head to the river for Thanksgiving, I'll probably advance-post it so it trickles in over the next few days.

Sometimes I'm good about blogging. Sometimes I'm slack about blogging. I know, I know. I just tell myself that I'm saving people's Google Readers from getting over-clogged. (yep, that's right...I do it just for you...)

How do you handle it when you get too overloaded? Do you stop blogging? Do you stop reading other blogs? Commenting on other blogs? I am still trying to find the balance here. Because I do enjoy blogging, but I don't feel it's right to just blog and not ever read/comment on other blogs. And when I'm not reading, I do miss all the other bloggers I read. And I seem to just keep adding blogs to read (they're all so goooood!) But most important to me is for it to be fun. I never wanted blogging to feel like a chore or something I *had* to do.

There's fun to be had in the daily outfit posting (which I realize has dwindled to weekly outfit posting...)

Fortuantely, the shoes didn't really matter that day... They weren't the killer detail in the outfit - not that there really was one. (real quick - cashmere femme sweater from last year, chico's jeans, ON cami, gray ribbon fireball necklace - retail-only) I don't even think I Polyvored this outfit since I still don't have the necklace on PV, so here it is for the clipping...

OOOooh, you look gorgeous! Cashmere and a sparkly necklace - love it! I have never seen that necklace here....is it recent? Maybe I'll find it up there! Have a great time at 'the River!'

Suzy - thank you! I got the necklace at Pentagon City several weeks ago. I picked up one for Summer about 2 weeks ago, but there were only 2 left. But who knows? Maybe we'll get lucky on Monday!

Have a great Thanksgiving! Beautiful necklace!
I know what you mean about falling behind reading blogs. I really miss it when I do!!!! I can just spend hours doing it, which is why I really can justify a laptop so I can sit in front of the tv, reading blogs!!!

I also keep adding more blogs to read! I try to keep up when I can and when I get behind I tend to read but not comment too much. I just put the guilt aside and go on.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh, I know that feeling!!! I guess my big thing is I just always try to go back and at least read people's blogs, and then comment on all of them at least once a week. That way I feel like they still know I care...

And since everyone I know has an insanely hectic life, I think we all forgive each other for not being able to stay as on top of things as we can!!!

I love that pic you took of that necklace...as much as I love the one of Ugly Betty wearing it, this one is PERFECTION for Polyvore. THANK YOU!

Going to clip it right now...

Hi Heidi. What a great outfit and a great question. Do what feels right. We all understand the demands that maintaining a blog can make on your life. Sometimes I only have time to skim everyone's blog and then there are other times when I can actually catch up and read, comment and reply to my blog and others.I think that's how many of us do it. Otherwise, I find myself spending too many hours on the computer and feeling guilty afterwards. We miss you when you're gone. We love you and we're here when you come back. Have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving

It's nice to see regulars on my blog & nice to see people only comment now & again. However, I figure people also read and don't comment. Esp those that are running their own blogs. I often read & don't comment even if I intend to. In any case, I don't feel guilty at all. I am already on the computer over 40 hrs/week. I decided that if I start feeling guilty or an obligation then I won't do it. So I take it easy on myself and don't use any "shoulds" with regards to this. I definitely try not to add new blogs. That helps.

I agree with Patina you have to do what is right for you. I appreciate what you do and if you only have time to post now and again that is oka too, especially with Christmas coming up.

I am trying to cut down on my computer time and my spending and I am finding out they do go hand in hand. I try to limit myself to read 5 blogs a day, and I do not always comment.

Pamela - glad I'm not the only one! :)

Kathy - you are so right about putting the guilt aside...I am probably going to have to cut down on commenting...

dina - I know - that pic is perfect for PV! (yay)

Patina - thank you - such wise & kind words!

gigi - very smart to avoid the "shoulds." I need to do more of that.

casual-crew - you are so right about the spending/blogging connection. I have been mulling over a whole post on the blogging/spending connection but haven't yet gotten my thoughts in order. But given the approaching holiday season, now would probably be a good time.

Zoe Moet - 51 pounds and still growing...not too much more, though, we think... er, hope.
