Jaspe Is My Buddy & I Am Loving My New Pencil Pot

Still tired..Lucy is better but not all the way. I went to bed a little early and then got up with her twice last night. 2nd time was a total false alarm. You get up at 2 am, open the crate door, and she just stares at you like "oh, you're awake, would you like to pet me while I lounge here?" (Puppy version of the charming smile your 3-month-old gives you when you come into their room to get them out of the crib.) She got rice for breakfast this morning to help calm her tummy. Yes, the puppy version of the B-R-A-T diet. :) And to clarify, this is the first time she has gotten puppy food for two reasons: (1) general gastrointestinal health, and (2) manners. We're getting there...on all fronts.

Pretty day, spring-ish, a little cool, so I pulled out my spring buddy, the Jaspe sweatshirt. I am still loving this. It's perfect for this weather. Comfy but not too heavy. Slim shape so that it's not too bulky. Love the gray melange color. And then jeans, white tank, black mocs and some pearls. Amazingly enough, I have again resisted the tired = ponytail default. (must be the haircut, maybe I should do that more often)

Polyvore set for today:

So I spent the morning doing some cleaning out to help de-fuzz my brain. First up, the school supplies/arts & craft chest. This was hubby's grandfather's desk and it sits right behind the kitchen table. Perfect place for the crayons, glue, scissors, stickers, loose paper, workbooks, etc. And it was a total nightmare. So I went through each drawer, decluttered, cleaned, organized. Here is the top drawer - isn't it pretty?

And this is my new pencil pot - in other words, what I did with the pencils, on top of the desk so they are easy to get to, esp when in the midst of homework. 1-2" of pebbles in the bottom to help the pencils stand up straight, makes them easy to see and get to because sometimes, you really want that specific pencil, you know. And I won't have to listen to the requisite 5 minutes of sorting through them all.

I also went through the kids' books to do some cleaning out. And then a bunch of other straightening, organizing plus laundry and picking up for the cleaning ladies to come tomorrow. I feel satisfied with what I've accomplished today. Time to hit the grocery store, and then come back to walk Lucy until bus stop pick up. Hope you all are having a productive day!!

I am also loving that sweatshirt on you! :D

You've had such a productive day! Wow! I need to tackle my list of things to do today so I can feel even remotely productive! :)

We were thinking alike today I also wore my Jaspe for the same reason as you!... I am still feeling wiped out. My little fur babies woke me up all night to play by biting my toes and fingers, oh NOT cute!

I really like how you put your outfit together with the Jaspe.

KatyO - thanks! It was productive, which helped me mentally. Today was light work-wise - I'm saving most of the work until homework time at the table with the kiddies.

Summerilla - ooooh bad furbabies! They are so cute, though, aren't they? And thank you!

patina - no, technically I don't "clean", I just "pick up". hehehehe. A friend asked for a referral and also asked me if they clean up. I said "No, because I pay them X dollars and they are here that long. They can either pick up or they can clean, and so I would rather do the picking up myself and pay them to clean."

I got the Jaspe with my Mickey card but haven't worn it yet. It's so soft and cozy! I love what you did with yours. Have a wonderful afternoon :)

At first glance with the pearls, this looks NOTHING like a sweatshirt. But, I think that's a good thing. It looks really nice on you! Oh boy have I also been resisting the urge to throw my hair in a ponytail too! I understand...

You look great! Very cute outfit with the pearls. I have a hard time sorting through my kids books. Even though I know they have outgrown some, I'm too attached to them. Come to think of it, I'm too attached to my books too! It always feels good to get organized though!

Kat - thank you! I'm sure you will really enjoy yours, too. I really like the catalog pic with the shorts, too. And honestly, I think it would be even cute with white jeans, but I just didn't have the energy for them today. :)

PoseyFord - thank you!!

Stephanie - thank you! And yes, it is always hard to sort through the books. I did keep a few favorites in there, like the Napping House, which I will always love. But I love books so much, I like to share them, too (just not all of them).

If you hadn't said that it was a sweatshirt from the beginning of the post I would have never known. Looks great on you and I love that you dressed it up with some pearls!

Loving this shirt. I am going on Crew-sade tomorrow (to eturn some items and to browse), must find it and try it on. Pearls make it instant chic.:)

I have the Jaspe and I LOVE it, too. Its lightweight for a sweatshirt and the colors are super. I love the outfit you threw together!

Mmmm...seeing it on you makes me rethink it a bit. I didn't like it at first because I expected the fabric to be sweatshirt-y, and it's much lighter. It looks very cute on you!

As a shout out to yourself and the other lovely bloggers, I'd be super grateful if anyone would review the Seafront Cardigan. It's such a cute, light go to piece, and I haven't seen anyone try it yet. Have you noticed it at all?

Emily - thank you!

AppGal - he is very comfy, but still not my bf like the bf tissue tee :)

Elizabeth in MO - thank you! sounds like you are really enjoying your Jaspe too!!

Slastena - thanks, can't wait to hear what you got on your crewsade today. I'm headed there tomorrow (1st time since Mickey crewpon expired)

Lula Mae - thank you! Admittedly, the pencil pot would be really fab if the pencils matched, but with a 6-y.o. & an 8-y.o.,I live in the land of holiday/party/themed pencils.

Lissa - thank you! You are so great at organizing, too! (and that was you I was talking about in the previous post - the people who look adorable & together in sweats)

Dina - thank you! I'm just responding now, so late day for me, too! It is beautiful outside. Hope you get to enjoy it, too!

PBP - thank you!

Crewbie - thank you, and glad you are loving your Jaspe too!

Anon@2:48 - I do highly recommend it, so I'm happy to hear you are reconsidering. (of course, if we all had the same thing all the time that would be so boring!!) You know, I have plenty of thick cozy sweatshirts, so this is a nice lighter version for me.

And wow, I had not noticed that cardi. I honestly have not been in store since the Mickey crewpon expired (and have tried to avoid trolling the website too much), but I'm going tomorrow...and just looked up the seafront cardi - it's gorgeous!! If it's there, I will definitely try it on and try to post.
