Wearing Today...and on past #100

It's getting late, but it's not yet midnight here, so it's still technically Tuesday. Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone. So I'll start with non-wardrobe. I picked up this salsa (Sweet & Spicy Summer Salsa from Tostitos) this weekend at Target. And I opened up today for a festive little afternoon snack. I was so impressed - so yummy! It's savory, sweet, smoky, and spicy all at the same time. I will definitely be stocking up on this salsa to keep around the house. And I don't usually really like pre-made jarred salsas. I would highly recommend trying this one. Just wish I could have had a beer with it...

On to today... I was headed up to school in the morning to help with Kindergarten Orientation (when the incoming Kindergartners and their families for the fall come in to get evaluated, get all their forms turned it, etc.). And they all just looked so little!! Either that or my 2 kiddies just got huge when I wasn't looking.
And since I can either freeze or boil at school, layers were the way to go. So I pulled out an old outfit, swapped out some accessories, and I was ready to roll. Navy Atelier jacket, gray BF tissue tee, and jeans. Newly added - the twisted crystal necklace paired with my grandmother's costume pearl chain, and the F21 domed flower ring.
After K Orient, I headed to the mall to do some Mothers Day shopping and then the grocery. And then back home to do some work. I will admit to changing out to a big huge comfy sweatshirt just before picking up the kids at the bus stop, but this is what I wore most of the day.

Polyvore for today:

I really wish I would have bought one of those twisted crystal necklaces. Very cute outfit.

I'm definitely going to try that salsa. Thanks for sharing.

awww Heidi, you look so adorable! I love the look! As far as the salsa goes, I agree...it is yummy!!! I usually add cream cheese and sourcream to it. The more calories the better. Tostitos scoops is the best to scoop all the yummy fat into your mouth hehehe.

You should try it!

Ooh! Love the salsa suggestion. Coming from a chips and salsa freak, I will definitely be checking this one out!! I love the swing of this jacket, it looks great on you!

Very nice! And I see you have taken out the white bag! Also, if you like a sweet salsa, Trader Joe's has a very good smokey peach salsa. It is delicious!

Perfect, PERFECT outfit on you!

Very cute! I just looove your outfits! It was Kindergarten orientation here yesterday too. As the preschoolers were dismissed the teachers announced what schools the older class kids were off to visit. To me, they looked so much older and so proud! I know it's going to happen fast!

Salsa sounds so yummy! You look adorbs and pull together at the same time. I just love the twisted crystal necklace except that it gets caught in my hair!Oh well sometimes you have to endure pain for beauty.

Heidi,

Is the jacket lined with a different color? It looks like you have some color peeking out of the sleeves. I am still really on the fence about this jacket.

Summerilla - thanks, but don't regret not getting the twi-cry-neck. I do love it, but it is very frustrating because of how it always snags/pills sweaters. I won't wear it with anything too delicate. And I make the decision to just have to de-pill my cashmere later. See Emily's comment below re: hair. :) That's one of the reasons I'm enjoying the fireball necklace - no snagging!

CECE - thank you! I actually like to put my salsa and sourcream side-by-side in a little bowl so I can scoop both at once. Never done the cream cheese thing but sounds good. Love the scoops!! Also like the Tostitos multi-grain chips.

PoseyFord - thanks, and enjoy the salsa!

Kathy - great suggestion, I will try it. I don't regularly shop Trader Joe's but I want to. I have a friend who is supposed to "introduce" me and really show me what to get there. Need to schedule that...

luvallthingsjcrew - thank you!!

Stephanie - that is so funny - it's all relative, you know?

Emily - thanks, but ouch! I haven't had the twi-cry-neck grab my hair...yet.

leaderboys - yes, this navy is lined in an avocado-ish green silk which I just love. The gray and white are both lined in white. Don't know if you have tried it on, but size-wise, I went with a 10 because of my wide shoulders. Depending on your build, you may want to consider sizing down. HTH!

Salsa sounds interesting! I've really gotten into Tomatillo salsa (aka...salsa verde) It's SOOOOO delicious and a nice switch from the normal tomato stuff. It also makes for an AMAZING guacamole mix. Just mix avocados and the salsa, and voila! YUM ENSUES!! :)

what a fashionable outfit to wear to school! If you saw what I wear to work in the classroom you would cover your eyes in shame. :)

AppGal - i have always wondered about the salsa verde. I will try it. I have friend who makes guacamole that way - just avocado and fresh salsa. My guac is a little different.

Lissa - let me guess, Juicy pants? Seriously, you just have a way more laidback style - but you are stylish nonetheless. You may be casual, but you're not sloppy - and there is a big, large, huge difference between the two. Plus that was for K Orientation - I don't usually dress quite that nicely for school. I did have a tshirt and jeans on, though.
