Wearing Today Featuring J Crew Painter Tee and Nicky Skirt

Another April scorcher today here in DC. Today's outfit features some major bargains lately at the Crew. First up, the Ringspun Crewneck Painter Tee (#12672, orig $34, curr $19.99) in a sun yellow, maybe? I think it's brighter than the sweet lemon online. (don't still have the tag) It was marked down to $19.99, plus crewpon = $14.99! And then the Cotton Taffeta Nicky skirt in navy (orig $78, on sale $19.99, plus crewpon = $14.99). I am loving the Nicky because when I first tried it on about 2 months ago, it looked awful on me. Now, thanks to the weight loss and getting into shape, a smaller size fits and looks fab. Yay! So I feel especially great with it on.

And then to dress up the boring tee & skirt - the Erickson Beamon Clear Beaded Bubble Necklace. Still love that piece - it's so fun. I will be wearing it like this a lot in the summer - to spice up a plain top. Plus some silver bracelets and a fun navy/silver bangle. Jewelry details at right. (PatinaCabachon is so good at posting those details!)

So today was my last day to use the crewpon, so of course, I had to go. Yes, I did get another boyfriend tissue vneck tee (I told you I would be getting Breeze before the card expired, so I did), plus a couple other things I'll be posting in the next few days. So lots of fun stuff to talk about. But it's time to head to the bus stop.

Here's my Polyvore for today:

Thank you all, ladies. This was one of those cases where I hung it up on the closet door and liked it, but then put it on and loved it - I just like the proportins of the tee & skirt together. And I'm always a sucker for navy & yellow!

What an adorable outfit! I love the simplicity of it too - and you look so polished and put-together! Such sunshine-y colors for today, too. :) Love it!

Again, ladies - thank you all for the kind words; they are very much appreciated. I guess I'll be wearing this outfit again...

sparrowsandsparkles - today was our last "summer" day - rain and 60 degrees tomorrow, so more like real spring weather. Need to stow the new strapless dresses for a few days...

Patina - I am so torn about the playa dress. It's so gorgeous. But do I need to spend the $138 now? It's not like I've been J Crew-idle for the past few weeks. I hit it again today. Then again... I can get the 25% off now. Should have taken dressing room pics. Maybe I should do an opnion poll for my next post...

Fun to comment on your blog when I get to see you in these outfits IRL! :) When we were volunteering tonight, I was thinking how much I loved that yellow shirt and the gorgeous necklace!

snaphappy - thank you! And I was so comfy all day in this outfit too. Worked fine to walk Lucy as well (but her bath did not quite happen)

Love this! The Nicky skirt looks fantastic on you...I'm glad you held onto it and gave it another shot! Yay for weight loss!

I am starting to find that I actually prefer being in skirts and dresses these days because of the comfort level. Esp. those made of soft knit material. I am always so uncomfortable and awkward in shorts!

It's amazing how much you can do with a simple tee in a great color and some fabulous jewelry. I love that yellow on you!

I just found your blog and love it! What a great outfit too. Navy and yellow are my favorites for spring. They just make you feel happy. :)

AppGal - the newly fitting always makes you feel good, no? I love skirts and dresses for the summer. And I found a couple of comfy but cute & flattering sweater dresses that I enjoyed this winter. They are just so easy! but i think a skirt definitely beats shorts in terms of coolness - there's just less fabric grabbing at ya. And I just got 2 totally fab dresses at JC that I need to post.

ZoeMoet - fabulous is a good word for the necklace - it's big enough to merit it!

Kat - thank you, and thanks for visiting!

Sea Glass Mom - thank you, and thanks for visiting to you, too! I just saw your blog and love it - particularly since I am a twin myself. Oh, what my mother went through...
