Wearing Today - with J Crew Joley Flats!

Today is Take Your Child to Work Day. Excused absence if you send in a note ahead of time and complete a "packet." Since I mainly work at the kitchen table (not so interesting), kiddies and I went into the office so they could hang out with hubby. We work for the same company (how do you think I got the job, hehehe?). Seriously, though, it's a fantastic company and I particularly love the fact that I can do about 95% of my job from home and they understand that at 9:00 am and 3:40 pm, I have to be here for the bus. So I stayed through lunch and then bailed to hit Target and Lowe's on the way home. Yes, I was picking out plants (veggies, herbs, shrubs) in white jean and Joley flats. Which brings me to the wearing today...

I got my Library cardi back from the cleaners who were repairing a teeny hole in the cuff caused by (yes, today's she's 4 months old and isn't she cute?) Lucy. And it was breezy, so I though it would be good today. And thanks to inspiration from PoseyFord earlier in the month, I paired it with a blue oxford shirt. (Thanks, Posey!) And of course, the white jeans. Know how bored you all are with seeing me in dark jeans? Well, it switches to white jeans and khakis in the spring, so you'll be seeing a lot of them. We'll see how well that works with a puppy.

J Crew's Joley Flats (#11703, orig $128, curr $98 online, $79.99 in store, with 25% Mickey card - $60, love it!!). I got them in bronzed twig, which is a fabulous medium neutral. I think they literally go with everything. They were definitely the perfect shoe for this outfit. This is my first non-flip flop/sneaker J Crew shoe purchase. Most of the shoes are way too narrow in the toe box for me, but these are perfect. So if you have avoided JC shoes in the past for that reason, you may want to give these a try. I think they will be so perfect in summer when I want a sandal but my feet (esp heels) aren't looking so polished, because they basically cover your heel and the bottom part of your toes. (OPI's Light My Sapphire is on my toes right now.)

Finally, I had to wear my standard gold hoops since I just got in the mail the one I unwittingly yanked out of my ear in Dina's car at the last DC JCA outing - thanks, Dina!!

As I said in my Polyvore, I am just all happiness today. Got library cardi back, got missing gold hoop, new JC flats, it's all good.

And I thought you would enjoy this... Lucy was "helping" me when I was taking pics. Here's a larger view of what I usually crop out... (shaggy dog = trim tonight)

Love the outfit -- and Lucy is so adorable, all gangly and puppy-like! Too cute. She looks a little like she just got caught being mischievous, and knows it. :)

Love this outfit; I may have to think about those flats...

Thank you, too, for the sizing advice about the bf tissue tees. I ordered two today--shell and the new, pretty pale blue that just showed up online (can't remember the name). I didn't even think about the Seinfeld "shrinkage" reference until you mentioned it--funny!

Cute. Cute. And more cute...

I am so glad you received the hoop!!! Finally! ;)

Can I tell you how much I love the Joley flats? Good choice! I bought the same ones but in shell.

I hope you have a great day!!!

Oh wow Lucy is big! I guess I didn't realize b/c she is always curled up or in your arms. BF and I are think we might get a french bulldog but then we found out they have issues-like snotting. I wasn't sure I could deal with that. Still thinking about it. Anyways, I love your outfit. The Joley flats are so cute.

Love the flats on you. Is it just me or is Lucy getting bigger already?

The joleys are soo cute!! You look gorgeous as usual! Lucy is growing up so fast!(in a whining voice: I wanna puppy too!) And thanks for the shout-out! I totally feel you on having too many dark jeans. I looked in my closet yesterday and realized I have all but 2 pair of dark jeans.

Ms.Mer - this is my favorite puppy age - the gangly, awkward,"teenage" phase - I actually like it better than the fuzzy puppy stage. And yes, she had just been running around my room like a wild monkey.

Ann - glad you ordered the bf tissue tees, I hope you love them. I actually think the shell one may be the most versatile, and I love that pale blue too. Enjoy! (and highly recommend the flats as well)

Patina - maybe when our Mickey time is over we'll be better?

Slastena - thank you! I felt so spring-y today, and I was warm.

Dina - I knew you got the shell ones. They are lovely. Yes, I got the hoop (thank you thank you thank you)- did you get my email today?

Emily - I think she looks a little bigger in the pic because she is in front of me, but she is 24 lbs now, up from about 15 when we got her. I can tell you that my life does feel more complete with a puppy in it.

Gigi - yes, she is, see comment above. :)

PoseyFord - thank you and you are welcome (thanks for the oxford under library idea)! yes, a puppy is a lot of fun...but lots of work, too. It honestly helps that the kids are 6 and 8 because they help out, even if it's just letting her out and running around the backyard with her.

You are so lucky! What a great job! Glad you found your earring. Do you know how many single earrings I have lying around because I'm fearful if I throw them away then the others will return and I will still be stuck with single earrings.

Joyce - copy away! I copy everyone else all the time - these JCA's have been such a great source of inspiration and ideas!

ashley - well, you could pick up some Joley flats at your Boston JCA outing this weekend, right? The rumpled FT cardi just did not work on me (L too big, sleeves not long enough on the M), but I have loved seeing it on everyone else.

GingerSnap - I love these flats - go for it!

CECE - glad to help! I could see adding another pair to my collection. Hmmmm... The silver ones do look very cool.

Lissa - I was so amazed that Dina found the earring. I must have accidentally yanked it out when I put my hair up in a ponytail (although I'm not *usually* that violent when I do it). I could have replace them, but this is just the perfect size for me for a "larger" hoop.

luvallthingsjcrew - yeah, Lucy is all like "I wanna cause some trouble!" :)

Cari - thank you!
