More Old Navy Sadness (Are you people kidding me???)

Ok, so after all the hoo-ha about the 2 Old Navy striped sweater jackets, I was able to order the medium tall, thinking that would be my Goldilocks solution to fits-but-too-short (M) and long-enough-but-huge (L). Thanks again to FFM for her suggestion on calling customer service - it was helpful and painless. FFM - you are a doll!

But then the package arrived... Oh, I was so excited. And then I tried it on. I dearly wish I had not already returned the M & L because I would like to hold up the M-Tall to the L and see if, in fact, they really are THE EXACT SAME SIZE. See picture below. Left is the L, Right is the M-Tall. What do you think? Don't they look the same?

I really love this cardi. I really, really want it to work. But the process of cleaning out my closet and going through the Lenten shopping ban has made me thing much more about my purchases and whether or not they truly work for me. So I think the sweater jacket is going back. It may only be $17, but it's still not good enough.

They kind of look the same size and kind of not. I can't decide. I do think the fit on this is close. I tried on the S and M and could have taken either. The difference was so subtle. If you don't think you'll wear it or don't feel totally divine in it, return it. $17 is a great bargain but only if you love it -- not just cuz it's $17.

Send it back! The concept is cute, but if something doesn't fit, it's not worth it (even if its cheap). Always ask yourself "if this were full price would I still buy it" (thinking about if you love it enough to pay full price...not if you could afford it). Its a good trick, I ask myself all the time because its easy to get wrapped up in SALE and forget if you actually love something or not :)

I still liked the regular M on you, short-ish sleeved and all. :) But I'm going to have to agree with Gigi and Gingersnap: if you don't love it, then it's money in your pocket for, say, that lovely black nail polish you were thinking of purchasing. ;)

Yep, it's going back. Thank you all for your input.

If it's not perfect for me, the price doesn't really matter (unless you are away from home and freezing and will pay whatever it takes for something warm). It just never looked as good on me IRL as I thought it should from the pics. And that will make me hesitate any time I would consider wearing it. Would still love to compare it to the large, though.

I had the *exact* same problem with this sweater! The M was too short, but the L was way to big around. I even got mine during their 30% off sale for $12. Yet, they both went back. If it doesn't fit right it doesn't matter how good of a sale price it is. I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had this problem. Too bad too, because it's a cute style. I keep trying to find something similar that will fit right.

Kristin - thank you! So glad I'm not the only one!! Best of luck. If I find anything comparable, I will be sure to post.

I tried this too and here is what I found: I have the XS in navy stripe and it fits like a shrunken, quite shrunken, jacket. I think it looks flattering because the horizontal stripes then follow my figure (in at waist!). Then in tan, I have Large and it is like a blazer. I am usually a 10/12 size so barely considering trying the XS but IMHO, it was good. I thinks the commenter who says there is little difference between sizes is spot on!

Maggie May - so glad they worked for you! Just weird sizing on this piece... In the long run, I think I am better off returning them since they just weren't what I wanted them to be.
